Job Description
To ensure through adequate supervision a high level of cleanliness and standards of presentation in public areas, guests’ rooms, corridors, and other ancillary areas of the Hotel, as per property standards. Behaves in a way as to represent the hotel in the best possible way at all times.
Responsibilities and Duties
● Distributes the workload fairly among the staff. To supervise works to cleaners and maids in order to achieve maximum cover.
● Checks daily that all public areas including restaurants, offices and staff areas, pool areas, and conference rooms have been cleaned to the standards of the hotel.
● Inspects cleaning of guests’ rooms, arrival, departures and vacant clean rooms, same as, suites and VIPs. Assists the room attendants whenever is needed.
● Ensures that towels and other room equipment are always supplied in the correct number, are not damaged, soiled and if any items are missing or damaged is responsible for informing the Executive Housekeeper immediately for further action.
● Inspects staff to ensure that they are in proper uniform and complies with hygiene standards of the hotel.
● Maintains a smooth and professional working relationship with peers, colleagues and staff.
● Completes room’s status report, and reports irregularities to Executive Housekeeper.
● Ensures that the lost and found procedure is implemented.
● Liaises with the Maintenance Department for damages and other work that must be fulfilled. Follow up on RFRs (Request for Repairs) in order to minimize discrepancies
● Ensures the established cleaning aids and materials are used for the proper jobs and to use correct quantities.
● Checks that the Housekeeping equipment and machines are maintained and in good working order.
● Liaises closely with the Reception, Maintenance, Linen Room to ensure proper and on time preparation of guest rooms.
● Handles guest’s complaints, and if unable to do so, reports them to the Executive.
● Attends Housekeeping meetings and Training as requested and assists in stocktaking.
● Is well familiar with the Hotel policies and procedures, and its premises. Is knowledgeable to the emergency procedures,
● Assists in other sections of the department e.g., laundry room, using their own judgment or following instructions given by the Executive Housekeeper. Additionally, prepares any necessary flower arrangements
● Undertakes any other relative duties assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.

Qualifications and Educational Background
● Graduated from hotel school with hospitality management qualification or equivalent.
● Previous experience in a similar position
● Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
● Computer literature
