Job Description
Maintain the high standards in the preparation and presentation of all kitchen meals. To follow faithfully the original recipes and the instruction given by the Executive chef with regards to the preparation of all food items.
Responsibilities and Duties
● Cleans food preparation areas, and cooking surfaces, refrigerated and dry storages.
● Washes vegetables, cut, and prepare foods, designated for cooking. Cleans, polishes, and disinfects the display mirrors for the buffet.
● Transfers prepared items and decorations from the kitchen to the buffets and vice- versa.
● Prepares hors d'oeuvres, salads, soups and cold dishes.
● Pre-cooks items, prepares them for later use.
● Informs his superiors of ingredients deficiencies identified in the section.
● Has good cooperation with colleagues.
● Respects and follows the instructions from superiors and consult them, for any questions.
● Helps on the other sections of the kitchen in case his section is not busy, following instructions or his own judgment.
● Is well familiar with the Hotel policies and procedures, and the physical layout of its premises. Is knowledgeable to the emergency procedures. Performs any related tasks assigned by superiors.

Qualifications and Educational Background
● Knowledge of hygiene and safety regulations
● Diploma from a Hotel School in culinary specialization or previous experience of a minimum 2 years in the same position
● Knowledge of the Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements
