Bartender

Responsibilities and Duties

● Maintains the highest levels of personal hygiene, cleanliness, and appearance, and follows health and safety rules.
● Always keeps the Bar clean throughout the service. Ensures that “mise-en place” is completed prior to service.
● Has extended knowledge of the Bar lists and beverages, helps the guests by explaining products/ingredients, and to be aware of the pricing policy.
● Takes orders, prepares and serves drinks and beverages to guests, in a courteous manner.
● Prepares any other cocktails apart from the ones listed on the Bar list and to be aware of the pricing policy regarding those cocktails.
● Coordinates the service/wait staff working outside the bar
● Promotes sales of food, beverages and any special events organised by the Management
● Checks goods issued by stores, stock the bar and all items. Maintain good inventory control
● Prepares requisition for the following day, ensuring that stores have received it.
● Attends training and informs bar employees about hotel happenings.
● Trains subordinates on the job, on beverage knowledge and practises teamwork with fellow workers
● Handling billing machines (ePOS systems), taking bills to customers, collecting money, and providing change.
● Deals with customers’ complaints or/ and reports to superior.
● Should be very well versed in local area history, places of interest, shopping etc.
● Is well familiar with the Hotel policies and procedures, and the physical layout of its premises is knowledgeable to the emergency procedures.

Qualifications and Educational Background

● Diploma from a Hotel School and/ or experience in a relative position
● Bartender qualification will be considered as additional qualification.
● Knowledge of health and safety regulations
● Excellent personal hygiene
