Job Description

To clean all types of assigned rooms, bathrooms and toilets and corridors to the standard of cleanliness and hygiene required by the hotel. Clean Public Areas, as per the instructions of the floor Supervisors and Housekeepers.

Responsibilities and Duties

● Maintains a clean and tidy serve areas (office, floors, and stores).
● Maintains, tidies and cleans public areas every morning, corridors, pool area, pool restaurant, veranda, staff corridors and changing rooms.
● Ensures that all safety precautions to self and others are taken when handling chemicals and refers to MSDS (Manufacturers Safety Data Sheets) and the executive housekeeper for proper care.
● Cleans and takes care of the vacuum cleaner. To use correct amounts of detergents as instructed.
● Complies with the hotel’s procedures for the control of room keys/ cards. To report any suspicious behavior.
● Stocks and Maintains service trolley
● Takes all lost property found, to the Housekeeping office as soon as possible.
● Cleans a set number of rooms and performs extra jobs as required. Additionally, carries out any other duties requested from the supervisor.
● Always wears a clean and well-pressed uniform and name badge. “be clean,work clean” attitude
● Changes bed linen as instructed by the Housekeeper to ensure that all linen used is clean, well ironed and in good repair.
● Cleans pictures, paintwork and mirrors and polishes furniture including all ledges in and out of view.
● Empties and cleans all ashtrays and rubbish bins. To clean telephone, TV, and all devices.
● Vacuums the floor and carpet daily. To clean balcony furniture, floor, doors and ledges.
● Cleans the bathroom to the highest standard of the cleanliness and hygiene. Washes down the bath, tiles, taps, shower head, toilet, and surfaces.
● Cleans and polishes mirrors and washes down the floor.
● Replenishes guest supplies and towels daily according to the Hotel’s requirements.
● Leaves no dirty linen on the trolley at the end of the day, and ensures that all items on the trolley are kept under close supervision in order to avoid theft.
● Is well familiar with the Hotel policies and procedures, and its premises. Is knowledgeable to the emergency procedures,
● Attends roll call and staff meetings as required
● Undertakes any other relative duties assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.

Qualifications and Educational Background

● Basic calculations skills
● 6 months experienced in a similar position is consider as a plus
● Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
